AI image upscaler

Enlarge an image 2× or 4× with an AI model that runs on your own machine.

The first run downloads the model your browser will execute — a Real-ESRGAN export. Your image is not part of that request, and the model is kept in your browser, so later runs — on later visits too — usually start from that copy instead of downloading it again. The model runs on the GPU where the browser offers one, and falls back to WebAssembly where it does not.

The source image can be up to 4 MP at x2 and 1 MP at x4 — the ceiling follows the size of the result, and both are lower than the one the other tools use. Still images only, and the result comes out as PNG.

How to use it

  1. Load the image to enlarge. The source can be up to 4 MP at x2, or 1 MP at x4.
  2. Choose the scale and run it. The first run downloads the model.
  3. Check the result and download it as PNG.

What it is for

  • Using a small image large, in print or on a slide
  • Enlarging a low-resolution photo or illustration
  • Viewing an old, small photo on a big screen

Common questions

It says my image is too large.
It depends on the scale, because the limit is on the enlarged result: the source can be up to 4 MP (roughly 2000 × 2000) at x2, and up to 1 MP (roughly 1000 × 1000) at x4. Both ceilings belong to this tool and are lower than the one elsewhere on the site. Shrink a larger image first, then bring it here.
Do my images get uploaded?
No — the upscaling runs in your browser. The model file is fetched from Hugging Face and the code that runs it from jsDelivr, but your image travels with neither request.
What do I get back?
A PNG, named after the original with the scale appended. Several images at once come back as a zip.
